# Content Agent

> Turn a content task into a finished, AI-optimized page — the Content Agent drafts from a brief and your brand context, then helps you refine and polish it.

The **Content Agent** turns the content gaps 3RD finds into finished pages. Pick a content task, review the brief 3RD assembles from your [brand profile](/workspace/brand-profile) and page analysis, and the agent drafts a full, GEO-optimized article — showing a live trace of what it's doing as it searches the web, reads your pages, and writes. Then you refine and polish it in the editor.

It's the bridge between a [Playbook](/actions/playbooks) task that says *"write a comparison page for this prompt"* and the page actually existing.

<Info>
  The Content Agent is a paid add-on. If your plan doesn't include it, the page shows a preview with an **Upgrade** prompt instead of the editor. See [how access works](#access-and-your-monthly-allowance) below.
</Info>

## Where it lives

Open **Content Agent** from the sidebar (under the execute/fulfilment group). The landing page shows:

* **Open and recommended tasks** — content tasks pulled from your Playbooks, ready to draft.
* **Your content** — drafts you've already started, with their status.
* **Create** — start a new piece from scratch or from a task.

## Starting a piece

<Steps>
  <Step title="Pick a task or start fresh">
    Choose a recommended content task, or hit **Create** to start a blank piece. Starting from a task means the brief is already scoped to a prompt that matters for your visibility.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review the brief">
    3RD builds a brief from the task, your brand context, and live analysis of the relevant pages. Edit the brief text freely — it's a plain field, and a sharper brief makes a sharper draft.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set tone and length">
    Choose the voice and target length before drafting. The agent also draws on the **brand voice** and **attributes** from your [brand profile](/workspace/brand-profile), so the draft sounds like you.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Generate">
    The agent drafts the whole page, streaming a live trace — web searches, pages it reads, and the document it's writing — so you can see how it reached the result.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## The three actions in the editor

Once you have a draft, three AI actions help you finish it. Only the first one draws on your monthly allowance.

<CardGroup cols={3}>
  <Card title="Generate" icon="wand-sparkles">
    Drafts (or regenerates) the entire page from the brief and your brand context. **Each generate or regenerate uses one of your monthly generations.**
  </Card>

  <Card title="Edit" icon="pen">
    Give an instruction to rewrite the whole draft, or select a passage and rewrite just that part. One-click undo of the last edit. **Free — unlimited.**
  </Card>

  <Card title="Proofread" icon="spell-check">
    Polishes the copy for native-language quality. Runs automatically after a non-English draft, or on demand. **Free — unlimited.**
  </Card>
</CardGroup>

<Tip>
  Get the draft roughly right with one **Generate**, then do the rest of your shaping with **Edit** and **Proofread** — those are free. Reserve regeneration for when the brief itself changed, not for small tweaks.
</Tip>

## Access and your monthly allowance

The Content Agent is gated by your plan, and drafting has a monthly allowance:

* **Allowance is per generation, per calendar month.** Plans with the agent get a set number of generations each month (or unlimited on higher tiers). The count resets at the start of each month.
* **Only Generate and Regenerate count.** Editing and proofreading a draft are always free.
* **The allowance is shared across your whole organization** — not per brand and not per person. Everyone on the account draws from the same monthly pool.
* A banner shows how many generations you have left, and the generate buttons disable once the allowance is spent for the month.
* If your plan doesn't include the agent, the page renders a blurred preview with an **Upgrade** call to action — no editor, no data.

<Note>
  Publishing is still your move. The agent produces the draft; you review it, publish it on your own site, and — because AI models re-crawl on their own schedule — expect days to weeks before a new page starts showing up in answers. Track that on the [Playbook](/actions/playbooks) trend, not the daily number.
