# Webflow

> Send Content Agent articles into your Webflow CMS as draft items, per brand. 3RD never publishes.

Connect Webflow and the [Content Agent](https://docs.get3rd.com/actions/content-agent.md) can send a finished article straight into a collection in your Webflow CMS as a **draft item**. Headings, lists, links and images come across with it. Your team reviews the draft in Webflow and publishes it there.

## Before you start

* Your organization needs an **active 3RD subscription** with the Content Agent.
* You need **edit access** to the brand in 3RD. View-only members don't see the **Connect** button.
* You connect **per brand**. Each brand links its own Webflow site.
* The Webflow site needs a **CMS collection** with a **Rich Text** field for the article body, such as the **Blog Posts** collection in Webflow's blog templates.

## Connect Webflow

**1. Open Integrations**

In 3RD, open **Settings → Integrations** for the brand.

**2. Click Connect**

In the **Webflow** row, click **Connect**. Webflow opens and asks you to authorize **3RD Content**.

**3. Authorize a site**

Tick the site 3RD may use and click **Authorize App**. 3RD asks to read your user, sites and CMS, and to edit CMS items. Nothing else. If you click **Cancel**, nothing is connected and the row says so.

**4. Choose where pieces go**

Back in 3RD, the **Where pieces go** window opens by itself. Pick the **Site** and the **Collection**, check the fields 3RD suggests, and click **Save**.

## Choose where pieces go

3RD fills these fields in each new item:

| In Webflow | From 3RD |
| - | - |
| **Name** | The article's opening heading, or the piece title when the article has none |
| **Slug** | The address you set when pushing |
| **Body field** (Rich Text, required) | The article |
| **Summary field** (optional) | The article's first paragraph |
| **Cover image field** (optional) | The article's first image |

A collection can't be used if it has no Rich Text field, or if it requires a field 3RD can't fill. The window tells you which field is the problem. To change the collection or fields later, open the **⋯** menu in the Webflow row and click **Choose where pieces go**.

## Push an article to Webflow

**1. Open the article**

In the Content Agent, open a new article (not an optimization of an existing page).

**2. Send it as a draft**

Click **Push to CMS**, choose **Webflow**, check the address, and click **Send as draft**. 3RD shows **Draft created in Webflow** when it's done.

**3. Review it in Webflow**

Open the collection in Webflow. The new item is marked **Draft**.

Pushing the same article again updates the **same draft item** instead of creating a new one, so you can keep editing in 3RD and push again.

## Drafts only

3RD only ever creates or updates **draft** items. It never publishes an item or your site.

Once an item is published in Webflow, 3RD leaves it alone. Pushing that article again shows a message asking you to edit the item in Webflow.

## Disconnect

Open the **⋯** menu in the Webflow row and click **Disconnect**. 3RD stops sending anything to Webflow and deletes its stored access. Items already in Webflow stay where they are.

Uninstalling the 3RD Content app in Webflow also removes 3RD's access. The row then asks you to reconnect.

## Troubleshooting

| You see | What to do |
| - | - |
| **The sites could not be loaded from Webflow** | Webflow no longer accepts the connection, for example after the app was uninstalled. Reconnect from the Webflow row. |
| **This connection has no Webflow site** | Reconnect and tick a site on Webflow's authorize screen. |
| **These fields no longer fit the collection in Webflow** | The collection changed in Webflow. Open **Choose where pieces go** and pick the fields again. |
| A message that the piece was already published in Webflow | Edit the item in Webflow. 3RD doesn't change published items. |
