# Set up the 3RD connector for ChatGPT

> Add the read-only 3RD plugin in ChatGPT from the published listing, or add the server by hand as a custom MCP plugin.

The 3RD connector brings your brand's AI-search visibility data into ChatGPT. Once connected, you can ask about your visibility, citations, competitors, and playbook in plain language — and ChatGPT answers using your live 3RD data.

The one-click plugin is **read-only**. It reads your 3RD data and does not change it.

## Before you start

You need a 3RD account with access to at least one brand. The connector signs you in with the same account you use at **app.get3rd.com** and only ever shows data for the brands you already have access to.

> If your account has no brands yet, the connector will connect but return no data.

## Quick setup

**1. Add 3RD to ChatGPT**

**Add 3RD to ChatGPT** opens the 3RD plugin listing:

**2. Install it and sign in**

Install it from the listing, then sign in with your 3RD account.

**3. Ask**

Ask: "Get the visibility score for my brand."

## Or add it by hand

**1. Add a custom MCP server**

Open [Plugins](https://chatgpt.com/plugins), press **+**, and choose **Add custom MCP server**.

**2. Name it and paste the URL**

Give it a name. Under **Connection**, paste:

**3. Create it as a plugin**

Choose **OAuth**, tick **I understand and want to continue**, then **Create as a plugin**.

**4. Install it and sign in**

Install the plugin and sign in with your 3RD account.

**5. Ask**

Ask: "Get the visibility score for my brand."

3RD also works as a source in **Deep Research**.

## What the connector can access

The one-click ChatGPT plugin is **read-only**. The areas it can read are listed on the [MCP overview](https://docs.get3rd.com/mcp/overview.md#what-the-connector-can-access).

## Manage or disconnect access

Remove the connector from ChatGPT's plugin settings. Revoking it there stops ChatGPT from reading your 3RD data.

## Troubleshooting

> **ChatGPT connects but returns no data**
>
> Your 3RD account needs access to at least one brand. Open [app.get3rd.com](https://app.get3rd.com) and confirm you can see a brand there, then try again.
