Connect ClickUp and you can send tasks from the Task management board straight into a ClickUp list. Each task becomes a ClickUp task with its full brief in the description. When a task’s status changes on either side, the other side can follow.
The ClickUp integration is in Beta. If you don’t see the ClickUp row, it isn’t switched on for your organization yet.

Before you start

  • You need edit access to the brand in 3RD. View-only members don’t see the Connect button.
  • You connect per brand. Each brand links its own ClickUp account.
  • You need a ClickUp account that can see the list you want tasks in.

Connect ClickUp

1

Open Integrations

In 3RD, open Settings → Integrations for the brand. ClickUp is under Task management. You can also click Integrations on the Task management board.
2

Click Connect

In the ClickUp row, click Connect. Sign in to ClickUp and allow 3RD access to your workspace.
3

Check it's connected

Back in 3RD, the row shows Connected and the account you linked. If you cancel in ClickUp, nothing is connected and the row says so.

Choose where tasks go

Open the ⋯ menu in the ClickUp row and click Sync settings. On the Task management board, click the ClickUp button instead. The How 3RD works with ClickUp window opens.
  • List: the list the Send window opens on.
  • To do, In progress, Done: the ClickUp status a task is set to for each status. Pick Leave unchanged to keep its status as it is.
Each list keeps its own choices, because each list has its own statuses in ClickUp. Click Save when you’re done.

Send tasks to ClickUp

1

Select tasks

On the Task management board, tick the box on each task you want to send. The box shows when you hover over a card.
2

Click Send to ClickUp

In the bar that appears, click Send to ClickUp.
3

Pick the list and status

Choose the List and the Status. With Status for the task’s status, each task starts in the status you set for its status, or in the list’s first status. Click Send.
3RD shows how many tasks it sent. Each ClickUp task gets: A task that’s already in that list isn’t sent twice. Sent tasks show a small ClickUp icon on their card in 3RD. Click it to open the task in ClickUp.

Keep status in step

From 3RD to ClickUp. When you change the status of a sent task in 3RD, 3RD asks Update ClickUp too? Click Update ClickUp to set the ClickUp task to the status you picked for it, or Not now to leave it. From ClickUp to 3RD. When you set a sent task to a ClickUp status you matched to a status, the task in 3RD moves to that status. A ClickUp status you didn’t match, or matched to more than one status, changes nothing. The newest change wins, whichever side made it.

What 3RD never does

3RD only creates tasks and changes the status of the tasks it sent. It never:
  • deletes anything in ClickUp
  • changes a task’s name, description or anything else
  • changes your lists, spaces or members
  • touches a task that was archived or moved to another list

Disconnect

Open the ⋯ menu in the ClickUp row and click Disconnect, then confirm. You can also click Disconnect in the How 3RD works with ClickUp window. 3RD stops sending anything to ClickUp and status changes stop coming back. Tasks already in ClickUp stay where they are.
